- Pimsa Poliüretan was established in Istanbul on July 29, 1975 by eight former schoolmates who were graduates of Robert College. The company is one of the first to manufacture polyurethane products for the Turkish automotive industry. Starting off with manufacturing polyurethane seat foam, steering wheels and armrests, Pimsa operated out of leased facilities located along the Ankara Highway in Küçükyalı between 1975-1985.
- With the increasing use of polyurethane in the automotive industry, the leased building in Küçükyalı soon began to become too small. Consequently, in 1985, Pimsa Poliüretan moved into its current facilities in the Istanbul Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone.
- In 1985, such interior trims as carpeting, trim panels and sun visors began to be manufactured at the Dudullu plant, according to the technical and esthetic preferences of our customers.
- By 1996, with the entry of Turkey into the European Customs Union, the variety of Pimsa Poliüretan's PU interior trims had become so extensive that they were divided into three functional groups: acoustic, safety and decorative. After this modification, Pimsa Poliüretan formed partnerships with two foreign companies. With the establishment of these joint ventures, the manufacture of acoustic components, such as carpeting and insulation,
are now produced in these companies.
- Our steadily expanding customer portfolio has come to comprise all automotive manufacturers in Turkey, including those in the tractor industry. The company has also become a manufacturer of automotive interior parts for the global automotive industry, providing products for automobile, commercial vehicle and tractor manufacturers. Renault, the Ford Motor Company and Daimler Chrysler are the main automotive manufacturers to which group companies export their products.
- We possess the ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management Certificate, the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certificate, Ford Q1 Certificate of Excellence
and Caterpillar SQEP Quality Excellence Certificate.
